What is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library?
The Imagination library was started in 1995 by Dolly Parton and has since gifted over 167 Million books to children. Dolly started the program in her home town in Tennessee. It’s expanded to include programs in over 2000 communities throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. The mission of the program is to foster a love of learning in children. They aim to make the experience of reading fun and meaningful. After you sign up your child will receive a new high quality book in the mail each month from birth to age five. That’s a total of 60 books over five years!!
How It Works: Sign Up For Free Books
The first step to signing up is to find out if the program is available in your area. Visit the check availability page, choose your country and enter your zip code. If the program is available in your area go through the rest of the steps, entering your address and personal information. If you don’t want to register online you can choose to register by mail or visit your local partner. After you register, you’ll begin receiving free books each month. Your child will be so excited each month when a new book arrives with their name on it!
