We’re still waiting on enough snow to build a snowman outside so in the mean time we’re bring the fun indoors. We made our our snow playdough and put together an invitation to play with sticks, crafting eyes, orange foam “noses”, buttons, and different pieces of ribbon to create a build a snowman invitation to play any kid would love. Arabella will spend an hour each day building snow man after snowman. She also loves helping make a new batch of playdough!
Snowman Playdough Recipe
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add water and oil. Cook on medium heat until it forms into a dough stirring consistently. Let cool. Knead dough. Add Glitter and knead more. This is the best softest playdough I’ve found. I store my homemade playdough in a mason jar and it lasts for months.
Supplies for you Build a Snowman Invitation to Play
- sticks for arms (we collected little sticks from outside) if you don’t have access to sticks you could use toothpicks instead
- orange craft foam cut into nose
- craft eyes
- random scraps of ribbon or fabric cut about 6 inches long for scarves
- buttons
Lay out your snowman building supplies. You can use multiple bowls, an appetizer tray or just a plate.
